Charter Report
We started the day with a 20-25kt sou easter chopping up the seas and making life very uncomfortable for our punters. We pressed on, trolling some bommies with rigged gar and bibbed minnows for spanish and scaly mackerel.
The first two gar were attacked in a double hook-up, with 2 Mack tuna coming to the boat. From 8am until lunch at 12, we accounted for 10 Spanish and scaly mackerel, and some medium sized GT's.
By this time the boys were all a bit green under the gills, so we steamed to Michelmas Cay to have lunch in the lee, protected from the wind. After about an hour, colour had returned to all of their faces, so we set off to Oyster reef, where we found some good spanish mackerel to 8kg that were biting their heads off.
We pulled stumps at 3.30pm knowing that we had a bumpy return home in store for us. For the day, we caught approximately, 15 spanish mackerel, 10 scaly mackerel and other assorted fish including GT's and Tuna.
