Marlin on Light Tackle Gear - what a day

Weather was rough - 20 knots ~ Pixie Reef

Even with rough seas there were fish to be caught and Wild Turkey found them.

Heading out for a relaxing time and to catch the odd fish it was soon action stations for all.

  • 30 Nanagyi
  • 4 Northern Blue Tuna

We were then lucky enough to get bites from 2 Black Marlins - unfortunately only 1 we were able to catch.

It was about 100 pounds and put up quite a spirited fight on the light tackle gear. Was a successful release.

As quoted by one of our anglers Rob Lorefice

"Another great day in Far North Queensland on the Great Barrier Reef!!"
